A fun-filled day for the family at the 2014 McHappy Day Stripes Run!

Since 2009, McDonald’s has championed children’s well-being through active play with McHappy Day, a fun run for the entire family. Now on its 6th year, McDonald’s is once again encouraging moms and dads to go out and play with their kids at the 2014 McHappy Day Stripes Run on December 6, Saturday at the Bonifacio Global City.

Over 3,000 runners have registered in the various race categories:

  • 1K Kids Catch Hamburglar, for aged 8 and under;
  • 3K Kids Race Grimace, for aged 15 and under;
  • 3K Adults Run Grimace Run, for aged 16 and up;
  • 5K Adults Early Birdie, for aged 16 and up;
  • 10K Ronald McDonald Challenge, for aged 16 and up; and
  • 3K McDonald’s Family Dash, for groups of 4, composed of 2 kids (aged 15 and under) and 2 adults (aged 16 and up).

The Top 3 finishers of each category will receive a prize, and special awards will also be given to runners with the best headdress and family costume.

After the races, participants can enjoy the game and carnival booths, giant inflatables and other activities at the Family Fair.

The McHappy Day Stripes Run is hosted by Jackie Lou Blanco and Chiqui Reyes, with the participation of McDonald’s endorsers Xian Lim, Matteo Guidicelli and Lovi Poe, celebrity guests Drew and Iya Villania-Arellano, Kim Atienza and son Jose, football players Anton and Armand del Rosario, and members of the Philippine Volcanoes.

Proceeds of the McHappy Day Stripes Run will go to Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit, a program of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Philippines. The Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit is a daycare center where kids can have a safe place to learn and play. Runners are encouraged to wear the red and white striped socks included in the McHappy Day race kits in support of Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit. Every purchase of a pair of red and white striped socks, which are also being sold in-store, will help build Bahay Bulilit centers in low-income areas around the country.
